As part of its expansion programme, the company together
with its sister company, Suriya Trading Enterprise (S)
Pte Ltd (Suriya), moved to a wholly owned 1,000 square
meter factory building located at the Woodlands East
Industrial Estate. The construction of the building
was financed with the assistance of the Economic Development
Board's (EDB) Small Industries Finance Scheme. The new
premises provide modern production and storage facilities.
Grading, Grinding, Blending and Mixing are various steps
involved in the processing of spices.
Our experienced production staff grades the whole spices,
prior to processing. The whole spices are channeled
through a metal detector as part of our product food
safety system. A disintegrator is connected to the metal
detector. The disintegrator breaks down the spices and
the output is channeled to the mixer. The mixer blends
the spices. The mixture is then conveyed pneumatically
to the Cryogenic System for grinding. The ground spices
are sieved, collected and stored.
This On-Line system minimizes human intervention.
Suriya Trading Enterprises (S) Pte Ltd is the first
Spice processing company in Singapore, and second in
Asia, to introduce Cryogenic grinding in the processing
of spices. The Cryogenic Grinding System involves cooling
of materials, using liquid nitrogen prior to being subjected
to high impact grinding. The technology is used in the
Pharmaceutical and Rubber Industry. SPRING Singapore
supported this project with a LETAS grant.
Form-Fill-Seal automatic packing and semi-automatic
machines are used in the packing of our products. The
packing systems minimize human contact with the products.
